A number of years ago I bought a Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED to scan the hundreds of slides that my dad had taken some 50 years ago. That’s still considered the industry standard for 35mm film scanning. The equipment is important – so are good Photoshop skills and technical expertise – because colors fade over the years and scratches are common on slides.
There are a number of sites offering scanning services, and although some appear to offer low prices, getting quality scans for those prices just doesn’t happen. I do quality work, and if you’re in the Montreal area, I’m local - which can be another big advantage. My background also covers some 20 years working in technical illustration, technical publications and technical photography, so the slides you get back will be guaranteed to make you smile.
So if you’re looking to digitize and restore 35mm slides or negatives so they can be easily stored or shared with other family members – please drop me a line or give me a call.
